Darwin City Council has adopted Guardian to administer its disaster management, recovery and emergency control programmes. Darwin City Council will be cooperating closely with Palmerston City Council in joint trainings and exercises.
The adoption of Guardian will enable both Councils to better mitigate natural disasters such as those from Cyclone Tracy that hit Darwin city on Christmas Eve 1974.
Ararat now has a new Animal Registration system in its Council office. This new system handles three types of animal registrations: (1) Dog Registration, (2) Cat Registration, and (3) Animal Impoundment.
