Apply.Gov is a comprehensive system designed to accept, store and manage the processing of various applications used within the local government. These applications may relate to several business units who need to interact with local council residents and business owners for issuing permits, certificates or renewing licenses. The desktop based application is referred to as Apply.Gov and the web based application component is referred to as eApply.Gov.

 | Provide seamless integration across various functional areas involved in the processing of applications | | Reduce the lead time to process applications | | Integrate the desktop application with PDA, Web Based applications and or Web services of consenting authorities. |
|
|
| The current focus is on providing the following features: | |
 | Ability to process building, planning and plumbing applications within a council environment | | Ability to produce letters, permits, various certificates, reports used by relevant staff, top management and regulatory authorities | | Ability to integrate with other internal applications mainly Property, Mapping and Finance applications, in order to simplify application processing and provide a better view of data to the end users | | Ability to track applications online. | | Ability to interface with external web based applications and web services offered by government organizations. There are two projects currently in the finishing stages, which involve integration of smart forms with Apply.Gov. We have built several web services as part of a federal government initiative under the NeDA and EasyBiz projects to handle the acceptance of various applications in XML format . The applications cover a wide range of transactions including, planning, building, collection of rubbish, animals and other small business related transactions. |

| The NeDA (National electronic Development Assessment) project is managed by the Cairns City Council and EasyBiz is managed by the City of Whittlesea.
Apply.Gov is currently being implemented at West Tamar Council in Tasmania and Hunter's Hill Council in NSW. Incidentally Hunter’s Hill council is participating in the NeDA project and is expected to have the online lodgement of DA applications soon.
Apply.Gov is being released and implemented in stages starting in October’06. The anticipated time frame to finish implementation at Hunters Hill and West Tamar councils is the first quarte of 2008. | |
